Welcome to WPBundle

What WPBundle is, why it exists, how deals are picked and verified, and who is behind it.

I’m Alston Antony. I work in SEO and search, and I run WPBundle. This is the first post, so here is what the site is, why it exists, and how it works.

What WPBundle is

WPBundle is a place to find WordPress deals, themes, plugins, hosting and services. Right now it has three parts: a Black Friday and Cyber Monday page that collects verified sales, a set of best lists for common WordPress needs, and this blog. More will be added one page at a time.

Why it exists

Looking for a WordPress deal usually means a trail of coupon pages. Some codes have expired, some discounts are described more generously than the vendor’s own page describes them, and it is rarely clear why one product is listed above another.

The goal here is simpler: help you choose the right deal without wading through that. A big discount on the wrong product is not a good deal, so the lists say what each product is best for, and where it falls short.

How a deal gets listed

A deal goes on the site only if I can link to the vendor page that shows it. Each deal then displays three things:

  • the discount and any coupon code, as the vendor states them
  • the source link, so you can see the original for yourself
  • the date it was last checked

When a deal’s end date passes, it drops off when the site next rebuilds. Vendors can change terms without telling anyone, so please confirm the price and the end date at checkout.

How the best lists work

Each best list states its criteria before the list begins. Products are ranked by those criteria, not by commission rate. Every price in a list carries a source link and the date it was checked, and if I can’t source a price, it doesn’t go in.

Built on Astro, not WordPress

WPBundle is built with Astro, not WordPress, and that is deliberate. A WordPress site that recommends WordPress themes, plugins and hosts is already showing which ones it uses, and that creates a built-in lean. Because this site runs on a different platform, there is no WordPress theme, plugin or host here that I’d be tempted to favour.

I want to be careful about what that does and doesn’t mean. It is neutrality about the platform. It is not the absence of commercial interest: some of the links on WPBundle are affiliate links, which means I may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Pages that carry affiliate links say so near the top, and the full explanation is on the About page. When I have personally used a product, the entry will say so. When I haven’t, it won’t imply that I have.

One more thing to be upfront about: I work at Brainstorm Force, the company behind the Astra WordPress theme and ZipWP. That is separate from this site, but you should know it. If WPBundle ever covers a Brainstorm Force product, the entry will say so.

What’s next

The first job is the Black Friday and Cyber Monday page, which will fill in as sales are confirmed. After that I’ll add best lists and posts gradually, and only once I can stand behind the sources.

If you know of a deal that should be here, or you spot a price that has changed, use the contact page. Corrections are welcome.
